Vocal Psychotherapy
|
Our voices carry far more than words. They express emotion, identity, memory, and our deepest sense of self.
Vocal Psychotherapy combines counselling with the therapeutic use of voice, sound, breath, and creative expression to support emotional healing, self-discovery, and personal growth. This unique approach can be particularly helpful for people who find it difficult to express feelings through conversation alone. By working with the voice in a safe and supportive environment, clients often discover new pathways to emotional expression, confidence, self-awareness, and nervous system regulation. My approach is guided by trauma-informed practice, attachment theory, neuroscience, parts-based healing, and contemporary understandings of the relationship between voice, emotion, and wellbeing. Where appropriate, sessions may incorporate voice, breath, guided visualisation, creative exploration, and gentle body awareness practices to support emotional regulation and self-understanding. Vocal Psychotherapy may support anxiety, trauma recovery, grief, stress, low self-esteem, emotional regulation, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. My approach is grounded in compassion, warmth, creativity, and curiosity. Sessions are tailored to each person's comfort level, goals, and readiness. No singing ability or musical experience is required. Vocal Psychotherapy offers a gentle and powerful opportunity to reconnect with your authentic voice, deepen self-understanding, and discover new possibilities for healing and growth. |
