Dementia & Ageing Support

Music and singing have a unique ability to foster connection, engagement, memory, and wellbeing throughout the ageing process.

Research increasingly highlights the positive impact of singing and music-based approaches for people living with dementia and their families. Even when memory and language become affected, music can often remain a meaningful source of connection, expression, comfort, and joy.

At South Coast Harmony, I offer person-centred support that recognises the strengths, dignity, and individuality of each person. Through singing, music, conversation, and meaningful engagement, sessions aim to promote emotional wellbeing, social connection, cognitive stimulation, and quality of life.

I am passionate about supporting older adults, carers, and families navigating dementia, memory loss, ageing, grief, and significant life transitions. Alongside supporting the person living with dementia, I recognise the emotional impact that dementia can have on partners, family members, and caregivers, and the importance of maintaining connection, identity, and wellbeing for everyone involved.

My approach is gentle, creative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-informed practice, with a focus on connection, expression, joy, and preserving a sense of identity and belonging.

Together, we create opportunities for meaningful engagement, shared experiences, and moments of connection that honour the person behind the diagnosis.
