Trauma-Informed Counselling in South Australia

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, eating disorders, stress, low self-esteem, or life transitions, therapy can provide a supportive space to make sense of your experiences and move toward meaningful change.

At South Coast Harmony, I offer trauma-informed counselling and psychotherapy tailored to your unique needs, strengths, and goals. My approach combines warmth, steadiness, curiosity, and compassion, creating a safe environment where all aspects of your experience can be explored without judgement.

I draw on attachment theory, neuroscience, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed practice, parts-based work, vocal psychotherapy, and creative therapeutic approaches. Therapy is always adapted to the person rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model.

For some clients, exploring emotional experiences, attachment patterns, and different aspects of themselves can be deeply healing. Others prefer a more practical and cognitive approach focused on thoughts, behaviours, and coping strategies.

Contemporary trauma research highlights the important role the body and nervous system can play in healing and recovery. Where appropriate, I may incorporate gentle body awareness practices, guided visualisation, and nervous system regulation strategies. Because many trauma survivors have learned to disconnect from bodily sensations as a way of coping, these approaches are reviewed for suitability and introduced gradually. Our work together is always tailored to your comfort, goals, and readiness.

My aim is to help you develop greater self-understanding, emotional resilience, self-compassion, and confidence as you navigate life's challenges and create lasting change.
