About Charlotte

Charlotte Robinson, MCouns&PsychTh, BTeach (Music)
PACFA Registered Certified Practising Counsellor
A Warm Welcome
Seeking support can feel like a vulnerable step. Whether you are navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, eating difficulties, relationship challenges, life transitions, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life's demands, you do not have to face it alone.

My aim is to create a therapeutic space where you feel safe, heard, and genuinely understood. A space where all aspects of your experience are welcome, and where healing can unfold at a pace that feels right for you.

My Approach

I believe healing begins with compassionate connection.

My work is grounded in trauma-informed care and integrates attachment theory, neuroscience, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), the trauma-informed parts work of Dr Janina Fisher, vocal psychotherapy, and therapeutic singing practices.

I am also informed by contemporary understandings of the body's role in healing and recovery, including the contributions of Dr Bessel van der Kolk, Dr Gabor Maté, and Peter Levine. Where appropriate, I incorporate gentle body awareness, guided visualisation, and nervous system regulation strategies that support clients to reconnect with their experiences safely and gradually. These approaches are always tailored to the individual and grounded in trauma-informed principles of safety, choice, collaboration, and respect for each person's unique pace and readiness.

I bring warmth, steadiness, creativity, and perspective to my work, supporting clients to better understand themselves, build resilience, and reconnect with their strengths.

My Professional Background
I hold a Masters of Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Bachelor of Teaching (Music), bringing together expertise in mental health, creativity, voice, and human development.

As a PCFA Registered Certified Practising Counsellor, I am committed to ethical practice, ongoing professional development, regular clinical supervision, and evidence-informed care.

With more than 30 years of experience supporting people across diverse settings, I have witnessed the remarkable capacity people possess for resilience, adaptation, and growth.

As a counsellor and psychotherapist in South Australia, I support adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, eating disorders, grief, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, and major life transitions.

Areas of Interest
My professional interests include complex trauma recovery, attachment, eating disorder recovery, vocal psychotherapy, singing for wellbeing, and the growing body of research exploring the relationship between trauma, the body, and emotional healing.

On a personal note, I place great importance on self-care. I have a daily practice of pilates, bike riding, walking my dog Clancy on the beach, journaling, meditation, and cooking. I love to laugh, love my work, and cherish time with friends and family.

Working Together
The therapeutic relationship is one of the strongest predictors of positive outcomes. This is why I place great value on creating a relationship built on trust, authenticity, respect, and compassion.

Whether you are seeking support for a specific challenge or exploring personal growth, I would be honoured to walk alongside you on your journey. I welcome you exactly as you are.
